Regarding O-rings and Keycap Removal

What's the best way to put these puppies on? In my work environment I can't have the loud noise from the bottoming out impact my surroundings, so I ordered some 40A-R o-rings from WASD Keyboards. I want to put them on my Quickfire Rapid w/Reds.

I tried pushing them on but I can't get them all the way down to the base of the keycap stem, and all the keycaps that I installed the o-rings on are inconsistent. Some have the o-rings on further than others, but I can't seem to get them on uniformly for all the keycaps. It's very frustrating.

Additionally, I'm scared to take the large keys with the Costar stabilizers off. I read about how to do it but I'm very scared to bend it, and still not sure if I fully understand the process.

Thanks in advance guys, looking forward to any input. thumb.gif

I don't see how they slide on see easy for the guy in the video. They don't do that for me, haha.

Anyone? I slip them on and they just stay at the top of the stem.

Use a straw or just put the cap on + push down firmly. That will push the o-ring into place.

Ok and what about the large keys? I believe they are Costar stabilizers.

Basically remove all the surrounding keys then pop the key off the switch but don't pull it too hard. Then it's just tilting and working it off the stabilizer bar.

I'm assuming what you are describing is for the Costar stabilizers? Just want to make sure.

Thanks for the help. I installed o-rings on the whole board minus the keys I don't use frequently, because it's just a waste of energy installing to later remove from those ones.

It just sucks now that I'm probably going to order a PBT set I'm going to have to remove these ones and do it all over again on the new set.
