Intel Liquid Cooler by Asetek

Thread Starter
Too make a long story short, my Antec 920 pump died 2 nights ago and my i7 2700k hit 90C before I noticed it in coretemp on my logitech G15 display. I was kinda let down on the quality of Asetek but since it was cooling great when it did work I decided to go for another one, the Intel thermal solution. So far its been great and with the supplied Dow Corning TIM (TC-1996) max temps have been far below the Tuniq TX-4 TIM I was using (and that's with 1 fan on the radiator) so I am back in business.

You think you are the only guy that got screwed by Antec/Asetek? see my sig and Nocturn's posts among many other so called Liquid Cooler. They had a drop in quality this year or late last year, explains the bad batch floating around.

4 bad Kuhlers (Same as the Intel Liquid Cooler by Asetek ) and Down nearly $300.. <

My Antec 920 never worked for me. The USB connector wouldn't synchronize with Windows, so the radiator would spin up to 100% and stay there. I really don't trust Antec and their USB's. Call it a bad experience, but hey, it ruined it for me.

Man guys this is scary, I just dropped $97 dollars on one. I'm wondering if I shoulda went with a differant brand like the Larkkooler or Thermaltakes big water setup.

Yea I just read the replys to that link up above regarding faulty cooler, man that does suck birdman. My 920 also made that grinding noise from the pump. Luckily this one hasnt made that sound however its only been on for roughly 4 hrs.

Bro, you REALLY aren't alone. I wasted a $105 on mine at Fry's Electronics and I didn't actually live near it. Was never able to return so that was over a hundred down the drain. Go for a Corsair H100 or even H80. Those are supposed to be really nice.

Lolz, that is exactly where I puchased mine locally unfortunately I was outside the 30-day return policy but, I will be contacting Antec. I understand I am not alone, I will see what this one does. So far no grinding-like noise.

Mostly due to their legendary RMA service. XD

Hey,

are these coolers in any way modifiable? I need to cut the hose to be able to place the rad in a separate section in my case. What's the internal thickness of these pipes?
