Gigabyte 7770HD Crossfire Problems!

Thread Starter
So I finally managed to get a Crossfire Bridge and a Molex > PCI-E connector, but now I'm having problems with Crossfire.
  1. Catalyst Control Center sometimes does not detect second card (detects it exists, doesn't detect core speed, temps, power, etc.)
  2. I freeze sometimes when opening multiple things at once (For example I'd open Firefox, and before it displays firefox I'd try and access CCC).
  3. Freeze at launch of Skyrim

I've reinstalled CCC and CAP multiple times but to no avail, so I'm wondering if you guys could be of some assistance? If I have to uninstall the drivers please give step-by-step instructions. I generally uninstall in control panel, then reboot into safe mode and use driver sweeper, then reboot and install CCC again, but that doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: I can't even disable Crossfire in CCC because it just causes both monitors to turn black and says "lost signal".

I know it is a Crossfire issue because if I go into windowed mode (where I believe Crossfire does not work) it starts up just fine. That also probably means it isn't Skyrim and is a driver issue. I'm not sure which drivers to install considering that latest does not always mean greatest so can anyone offer any advice?

I got it to work once but after a reboot it stopped working again. Before it worked I saw a green flash on the screen when Crossfire was enabled. This was also after a fresh install of Windows 7, and a motherboard update.

I think it may be a motherboard driver problem (though it shouldn't be since it is supposed to be "crossfire ready") but for an ASUS P5Q-E can anyone direct me to which drivers I should install? Like which ones would affect Xfire.

Yeah I updated it to its newest BIOS.

I'm having the EXACT same issue. Gigabyte 7770 in Crossfire. Each individual one works fine, but in Crossfire anytime i start a 3D game, hard lock. The firefox issue is firefox using hardware acceleration. If you disable it, that works fine. I had everything working tip-top using the 10.6 beta drivers. Tried to move to the 10.6 final, back to the same issue. Tried 10.7 beta, problems. 10.4, problems. I'm ready to format one more time and try the 10.6 beta drivers again and see if that fixes it, but theres clearly SOMETHING wrong with these cards.

I've had the issue across a Gigabyte Z68 board, and an Asrock Z77 board. Different RAM, 650W Cooler Master GX power supply, different hard drives. All leave the common denominator of the video cards being the culprit.

I figured out the issue last night. You need to update the bios on the video card (assuming you're a PCB v1.0). Update to the F5 bios on Gigabyte's site.
