I just tried it, but the combat is clunky as hell. I actually prefer the typical point and click over this. Makes me want to go play Vindictus or something.

Just to clear some questions up for you guys.

Games combat is beyond any game out there. By far better gw 2 combat system. Its what gw 2 which it was but gw 2 cheap knock off that is completely a joke compared to tera combat. Tera combat is like ninja gaiden but a bit slower. Its all hit box based. You swing sword did it hit mob =damage . Ai is very good so PVE combat wise is amazing. Getting to lvl 60 will be an amazing experience but end game is not there after being there for 2 weeks just not enough.

Xbox 360 / Game are fully supported more then any pc game, gonna say that so its not an understatement.

MMO- Questing - Kill X things but amazing combat so its fine.
PVP - Skills based more then any other mmo
PVE - Most immersive

Bad Points : Not enough content, just lame its was out when WOW was only 2 years in then content would be fine but its just another other MMO lacking end game . Definitely worth it if you guys are even a bit interested in REAL action MMO. Also for anyone not wanting to download they game has gaikai server(ONLIVE ).

I had bad experiences with SWTOR, same situation about the end contents are not enough + monthly subscriptions. I have money to pay whatever I want and it's not an issue but is it worth it? No. Gameplay of TERA is okay, Got hang of it but again, I see the community is still young and small compare to other higher anticipated MMO. It is also up to personal preferences if they just love to play alone or just to enjoy the amazing PVE combat.

For me I prefer the societies side better. This is why I see this part is also lacking right now but maybe later it will have a larger community.

Biggest reason why this is important to me is that if you want to run something, you needed a group and without a group. You're just sitting there or do single dailies everyday. This is the reason I stopped playing SWTOR for one of the two reasons. Right now BIOWARE decided to merge servers but sorry I've lost interests.

Tera feels a console port and is a kvasi-MMORPG. The quests are pathetic, really, really, I can't stress enough how, pathetic questing in this game is. When I logged in and played, it felt like I went 6-7 years back in time. I got only to lvl 33 or so, which is actually quite a bit of play, but 98% of the quests are either "go kill xxx amount of mobs" or "go collect xxx amount of things on the ground".

I've been playing The Secret World, and boy what a refreshment! I mean, what game requires you to learn Morse Code to solve a quest? Finally something to tickle my braincells.

Hey, just gonna make small point but exactly what you said can be said in reverse for the combat for Secret world. I rather have do xx kill xx when the combat system is entertaining because good combat system leads to good PVP which lead to more competitive and emersive experience. Also PVE is just much better when the combat system is good. Id take good combat mechanic over questing structure any day. Prime example SWOTR awful combat mechanics but amazing Questing look how that turned out.

Personally I bought the collector's edition of this game. I played it through beta, then live, now I do not play it anymore. Here are some of the reasons I no longer play.

- PvP servers are really just whoevers zerg is bigger. When you do find a 1v1 if you are winning, expect the person to just run to a safezone when they get below 30% health.

- Leveling is the most boring leveling of any game I have played. Yes the combat system is different and makes it a little more fun at first but once you get to the 1000th quest hub that looks the same, it gets pretty old.

- Wayyyyyy too many elitests, any PVP game brings these guys. Spamming chat how bad ass they are, how they ganked whoever and whatever guild, just annoying.

- I did not play the nexus so I cannot really comment on that but I can imagine it is the same thing over and over again.

- Tried to organize 5v5 groups for PVP and the majority of the community that I have spoken with would rather zerg.


The game at first was extremely promising, a PVP game where you could control objective points and fight for them... amazing! Unfortunately it did not play out that way at all. Judge for yourself, some people love the game, just not me.

I personally just dont like the the questing method of reading scrolls instead of audio/visual interaction with NPCs.

I guess thats more of a general thing than directly related to this game.

I liked the combat system though.
