Ninja Rev.B or BT VX?

Thread Starter
What is the better performing HSF for the money? The Ninja Rev.B is easily installed just like the BT VX and it's $43. The BT VX is larger with a higher CFM fan, but is also $54 and the Ninja has more heatpipes.

However, I have noticed that the Ninja has fairly wide spaced fins - does this hurt it's performance? If anyone could offer any opinions or knows of any good reviews on the ninja or btvx, I would be very appreciative.

well firstly about the wide spaced fins...i dont think they hurt performance..they must be good atualy so that heat can be dissipitated quicker..also ive got the old BT and the VX version just has a fan control and ive noticed it also comes with a 9 blade fan, but im not sure if it is any different from the original one in performance...either way with any of the two coolers you cannot go wrong..personaly id go with the ninja because ive already owned a BT, but you may have a different opinion..btw there is also the newer scythe infinity which is slightly better than the ninja.

I wanted the Infinity of course, but being like 16cm tall, it would be maybe 1-2cm's or less from the 92mm fan on the side of my case... It might even be too big :-\\

Not to mention it's sooooo heavy! lol

I like the design of the Ninja and how it blows it's heated air right out the back of the case, unlike the BTVX. Not to mention, it's cheaper and if I want to, I could do dual FM121's on it for push/pull

If I wanted to mount a second fan on it, would I have to make/bend my own fan clips for it on the Ninja?

Are there any reviews of the two head to head? I've heard both things out of both and I don't wanna make a crappy choice (no offense intended or anything).

I'm also not looking to lap either one yet or add a new fan to either yet, it would be just the standard setup for a while... So add that into the equation

You can use zip ties if you want. Zipties can go between the heatpipes and the fan casing. I dont know how to explain it...

Haha, it's ok I understand... I'll just figure it all out when the time comes depending on which one I get

Thanks for the help though.
