Usually it is, but that's beside the point.... your approach to warranty resolution(the NA approach that is), it's a tertiary option and usually one of last resort in most other places around the globe... in Europe the manufactures play a tertiary role, the importers and distributors are the ones who handle the warranties, sometimes the retailers themselves(large shops which do their own import and distribution just like newegg does in the NA)... you take/send the product to the shop, if the shop refuses you for w/e reason(they blame it on you typically) you find out who's the official distributor in your country and take it up with them.. if they refuse you too, you then contact the manufacturer which almost always will initially forward you back to their local distributors(most situations get sorted before reaching this point)... if for some reason the local distributor still refuses to help, the manufacturer might grant you a direct RMA, which is almost never cheap. wink.gif

So, the warranty channels are radically different, and even though there are many manufacturers with excellent support and service, some better than Corsair(BeQuiet! maybe?), that's more or less irrelevant for most everyone else except NA residents.... in Europe, where you buy it's generally more important than what you buy when it comes to warranty. wink.gif

UK law requires the retailer to take responsibility for product warranties (that is, to offer a replacement or refund to the end consumer).

We have the same policy in New Zealand... deal with the retailer for any warranty issues.

The problem living down here is we don't have much choice as alot of the stuff available overseas just isn't available in the country... especially the niche products as there is not really a market for it here.. and if they are here it's in such small quantities they either sell out really fast or they are really expensive.

the next problem with RMA's back to the US is the fact we would have to pay the customs clearance fees each time a product is shipped back for replacement.. this can potentially negate the benefit of having a warranty as it would sometimes just be cheaper to buy brand new again.

The next issue I have is things like ebay / amazon.. not many people can be bothered with shipping internationally, or due to agreements with the companies they place blocks on being able to ship things from the US to other countries. an example is the rampage iv extreme on amazon.. tplenty there but they block it being shipped to NZ. to get round this in the past I've had to have things shipped to people I considered to be friends from gaming clans etc that are US based.. but then I've been burnt by them dissapearing with my stuff once it's shipped to them... live and learn eh.
