Memory issues

So I bought these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1682023155 Got them for $45 from newegg on a deal.

Okay so put them in, 200x22.5 1.3375v llc off

Set ram to 1866 1.5v and manual timings.

Ran ITB 30 runs on standard, passed.

Play bf3, 15 mins later BSOD.

Up the voltage to 1.55 on the ram (some ppl had issues running at stock voltage and had to bump it up for stability) Same thing

Upped it to 1.6v 2 mins in bf3 it closes and i get some kind of memorry error with weird numbers like 000x002371 kind of thing (not exact numbers, just an example)

Upped voltage to 1.65v bf3 closes again in 1-2mins. My resolution is changed from 1600x900 to 1024x768 and i got some kind of directx error. and said something about making sure my graphic card had at least 512mb of memory to play. Im running a gtx 560 ti fermi classified, its well qualified.

Dropped cpu clock to 200x18 stock voltage. playing bf3 now, no problems yet.

Okay, there is a a profile 1 and 2 i can choose for the memory.
Also, in ram settings it shows both profile 1 and 2 being the stock settings for these dimms at 1866 speed then there is also the "auto" or "manual" adjustments.

Question is should I use profile 1 or 2 or auto.. and if i choose either of those three should I then put the settings on auto or manual?

And go from there as far as if I can use stock voltage or if I need to bump it up like some people had to do.

Or should I just contact Gskill tech support

First thing I'd do is run Memtest86+ on any new RAM and also if I were having data related errors. You can be dealing with multiple issues also, i.e. both RAM frequency and CPU clockspeed limitations.
Post another link to ram please that ones deactivated.
Check the error code with http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
Sounds like what I just went through on my setup. Turned out to be lack of Dram voltage for me. Try testing with LinX with "ALL" ram used for 20 passes and SuperPi 32M run to test ram stability.

I'll wait to see what kit/s you're dealing with before going further.

Running memtest86 as we speak.. at 50% no errors yet. Before errors it says pass 0. how many passes does it do? Just want to know how much time I have because there are other things I could probably be doing in the mean time

The DirectX error IS what I went through too and in my case everything I found lead to corruption of the DirectX. Best fix for me was to just reinstall OS. Here's a code list that may help http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff542347.aspx

MemTest should run over night. (6-8hrs) This will check the modules themselves.

Run the LinX and see how it does. It'll give you a better idea if it's stable or not at present settings. My guess is you just have more testing/settings to work yet.

So uninstalling directx and reinstalling didnt help, you had to reformat?

I've already installed OS on this ssd twice. trying not to write to it as much as I can. Or does it take a while for that to degrade it?

But how come I never got this directx error until today after installing new memory, well installed a new cpu yesterday as well went to the 6100 from the 8150.

Do you think I should reformat?

SSDs don't degrade that fast.

I don't believe formatting will fix it, the problem arose after you installed new ram, am i wrong?

Since the ram is rated at 1866Mhz, 1.5v and your motherboard is said to support up to 2100 OC. I would say it's faulty ram. Also, i wouldn't rely too much on memtest, it doesn't seem to pick up problems with ram alot these days. If all else fails RMA.

BTW, a lot of ram modules are not listed on the supported list but many still work as long as the manufacturer of the ram states it is compatible with a certain CPU it generally works.
