Water Setup?

Thread Starter
I was kicking around the thought of putting together a water system like this....
(see pic)

I don't know if there would be any condensation issues with this type of system or any benefits with having the frige with it.
Any thoughts would be apreciated.....

There would be condensation issues. And you will just burn out the frig compressor trying that...They are not made to dissipate that much of a heat dump for extended period's...

Almost everyone says no to this idea. It isn't worth it. You however can make a slush box if you get a window A/C unit, but as ira-k said you will need to condensation proof everything.

It is being done, but his compressor will die before it should. Fridges have insulation in them and when you put a heat source someplace where it is insulated it will only get hotter. It's just a bad idea. There are many other efficient ways to chill water.

That isn't the best idea. A peltier/TEC unit would give better results for less money and probably less effort.

this has been beaten with a stick and thrown to the dogs time after time again. It pretty much can't be done. frig's aren't made to keep cooling stuff down, only keep things at a certain temp. with the rad and coil in there you are gonna be constantly heating up the frig, and give it maybe a couple days to a week and the compressor is gonna kick out. Unless you get like a 1/2 to 1/3 hp compressor for the frig, and custom mod it and this and that. But by then you are better off with a phase imo.

Sorry. I think everyone else will agree on this one.

Well you probably could cool one down with a straw and a eye dropper..But if you could you wouldn't have to ask anyone how to do it either....
