Evaluate my AMD build! $500 - Page 5

I didn't put it up but I did update it. I went with a wireless N adapter capable of 300Mb/s......their house didn't need it as they will be and use a standard 2wire router...but why not..... the updated one has a better attena and is only slightly more expensive.

1:......kaspersky that I am getting is free. It is $35 with free shipping...with a $35 mail in rebate.
2: I don't like just plain "anti virus" versions. I like internet secuirty or above version.
3: Even though this is just the anti virus version...it is still a paid software that will be better than a free one at real time protection. Kaspersky is always in top 3
4:Did I mention it was free? on newegg right?

Tell that to all the alerts I get from malware that I know will affect my computer. But I can see your point, I don't get too many virus alerts for "Actual" viruses during my yearly stints with my anti virus....other than the one's I personally cause....not that many however it still is a good line of defense. With that said, I don't use the scanner and deleter of these anti viruses. They try to analyze my computer and remember it half the time and that takes a day on a system of my size. I just then pop open free virus deletion programs etc etc

But I can tell you one thing, your view in my point is wrong..why? Windows firewall is a good firewall for consumer purposes. Easy to make rules for etc etc etc. So if all a computer had was the protection of its isp (which does weed stuff out) and uses IE7 or something or any browser really. You can say that ..... it will be virus free. But the thing is. ....viruses exist. So once it gets on the ocmputer/....what does the consumer using it do?.....nothing? Your "plan" didn't include any virus deletion options and all that.

But I also agree that you do pay a premium of like $50 for something that rarely happens for features that you can find for free elsewhere.......but dude..how tied together everything else is all that matters and these are for consumer regular people computers that want to click one button and delete virus, they want the dual way firewal and service, virus updates, and also tested and confirmed reliability in stopping real time malware

I'll talk about malware in general but I have gotten some that don't require internet access. It literally tore my Windows directory apart even with no access last year... I put it in on purpose.....with a disabled anti virus as I underestimated the potency of it....well whatever. I didn't bother to stop it as I wasn't bothered to do all the "enthusiast" stuff to make my computer work like new again and as I had no files on my drive I cared for.. I did a 2 hour reformat.
