Our brains are amazing machine, 100% agree with you on that.

The brain is a TERRIBLE gpu. It cant handle much more than 20FPS while keeping the image sharp (yes, you'll notice an smoothness difference, but it blurs), it fills in just about everything, it blurs everything outside of about 2degrees from center..... its just... awful. Lulz.

Really though, who's surprised. Mid-range GPU on a MASSIVE rez screen. its going to have issues.

Our Desktop base GPU are all crying for bigger resolutions for years. Believe or Not, DX11 games market is still young even we are in 2012 atm. Our GPU DX11 has been out for several years.
Maybe we can blame the consoles for lacklusting in technology push.

No, you can blame every other company other than Apple for not having the free cash flow (true capital) to purchase risky hardware for a loyal user subset. Apple can test all of the ideas that no one else will because they know people will buy it. Not only will people buy it, but those who can't, want it. Apple actually helps the market more than hurts it.

I has to start somewhere.

I never meant you were; you took it out of context. "We" and "you" are referring to the same populous.

its not like 80% of people using it will even know the difference. They will see it rendering regular 1920 x 1200 ans say "wow, the retina display looks so good. i love macs!"

Besides, I noticed that there was no scrolling lag on IE9 with Windows 7. And so, The problem is due to software and the lack of GPU acceleration.
The machine itself is actually quite powerful (since it has an Ivy quadcore, and a GPU equivalent to an OC'd to a GTX 660m). At 1440*900, it can max Metro and Crysis (with some AA). And it can max games like Mafia 2, Just Cause 2, L4D2, Portal 2, Diablo 3, etc... At NATIVE res.

You would need a desktop GTX470 to max JC2 or mafia 2 at fullHD with constant playable framerates, not to mention the native res of the retina MBP. So no, it wont be maxing those games.

This is not targeted at that type of person. This is target towards photographers and video editors. There is a noticeable difference though between iPad 2 and Retina iPad

Considering this computer is doing something that is technically not possible, I'd expect problems.

every apple computer ever has been targeted at photographers and video editors, ipads also.
but i SERIOUSLY doubt these people go to an apple store and say oh, this isn't HD enough for me to edit photos on. hahah.
and if those were the only people that purchased macs, apple would be dead broke. You could put the ipad 2 and the new ipad, the iphone 4 and the 4s, the old mbp ad the new one infront of anyone in the world and probably 90% wouldn't say the thing different is the resolution.
