Since I'm kinda new here I'll post my build...

Thread Starter
My build was done on a mild budget, it's a year and a half old and it's pretty good to go.. Mainly focused on gaming

Motherboard
-870a Fuzion

CPU
-AMD 955 Black ed.

Ram
- Patriot 1333 8gb

Storage
-x2 Corsair F120's (Raid 0) 450 read 450 write

Graphics
- 6950 flashed with 6970 bios
- Soon to be x2 I have a 6970 I purchased from a member here

Cooling
-Corsair H50

PSU
-termaltake 850w bronze

I want to do a before and after bench mark on the system to see the difference between the crossfire with the other 6970.. I am going to run one 6950 flashed with a stock 6970.. Both cards are ATI Diamond brand (which I've really come to like).. I don't know that under any heavy load my current psu will have enough juice to power the cards and all that so i May have an upgraded power supply really soon..

I wanted to go with a bulldozer chip but after the reviews I decided to hold off since the 955 is getting the job done pretty well..

Using the Phaedarus2129 PSU Calc ver. 1.12, your system w/ 2 6950 +20 ccc yields 765 w. Your 850 Gold should be able to handle it thumb.gif
I did benchmarks before and after upgrading to 2 6950's went from P5343 to P8385 in 3dMark11. This is when I had the 1090t @ 4.0Ghz and flashed overvolted 6950's @ 950/1400 (second card had locked shaders) in my rig and ran benchmark under gameplay settings in CCC to get real gaming performance increase numbers

Made by one of OCNs members! + others, it called my system to a tee in the most updated version...... leaves room for play, and in theory is not biased as a power supply companies could be towards making you spend $

edit:: of coarse i did my own research first and purchased my latest PSU, then i found this after, and it called for 1000w for my system...so i was happy my calculations matched this....

Everything you came across said more watts because they were either a) taking into account the possibliilty that you have a no-name brand PSU that can't even deliver the wattage listed in its product info (you're ok, don't worry), or 2) they're lying to try and sell you larger PSUs.

You have room to spare, even if you overclock stuff.
