HDD: HGST Deckstar 500gb: 60$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145531&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=4003003&SID=14a7vps6ycls3
GPU: xfx core 7850: 220$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150617
Power supply: Corsair Builder 500w: 30$ (promo code: EMCNDHD77)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027
Memory: Gskill ares 8gb: 41.40$ (promo code: EMCNDHA42)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231544
CPU: Intel i5 3570k 215$ (promo code: EMCNDHB34)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138355
Mobo: BIOSTAR z77: 100$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504
CPU cooler: CM Hyper 212: 20$(30-10$ mail in rebate)(this should come in handy with the i5 3570k to help overclock)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
DVD Burner: Liteon DVD burner: 18$ (who uses these anymore?)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289
Boot/ Intel smart response SSD: OCZ vertex 3 60gb: 55$ (70-15$ mail in rebate)(Intel smart response is amazing in my opinion)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227737
Edit: did alot of editing, may want to reread

Optical: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289 saves a dollar
Case: Very good, high end case, aesthetics wise very pleasing, however, temps will be similar to the challanger(same stock fan config) i posted in my build but for only 40$, if you plan to add fans, keep it
Graphics card: same card, same price, no mail in rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150617 hell, you might even be able to fool xfx and get the rebate on your card on this one and save even more
PSU: links broken, mines a steal at 30 bucks and will power everything below a 680 and has 2 6+2 pins
Memory: like your's if you plan to stay at 1333mhz, if you want it at 1600mhz heres the link(id suggest this) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220558 BOTH ARE APPLICABLE FOR THIS COUPON, USE ITEMCNDHA42
CPU: get yourself a 3570k, they are on sale(as per my build)
MOBO: the one time i ordered open box ON AN ASUS, i got stiffed. Mobo's have alot of small complications that get missed where other open box products dont. PLZ go with the BIOSTAR z77 i suggested
OS: yep
SSD: I assume thats for boot/intel smart response, buy it if you must, i've had no problems with sandforce controllers (such ones could be found in my vertex 3 60gb)

changing my wish list around to use your changes with his other parts, but keeping the optical drive, would the phantom case with fans be necessary for cooling? or should this rig with the challenger be okay?

the only questions i have are the cpu differences and if the asus mobo is better and it was an accident for thehidecheck, or would the biostar be better anyway?

the biostar got great reviews and even was recommended by tomshardware(i believe, cant find link)
challanger is amazing btw but you see what you get. you wont add fans to it, you cant. its a good case tho thumb.gif
check my build too btw

I'm done for the night, atleast you appear well informed and seeking a good solution. At this point, all i have is out on the table, hope you can make the best choices.

Probably going to go with something very close to this, may opt for the 1tb hard drive jvkua suggested and perhaps the galaxy or saphire gpu you suggested previously to balance out a bit on the cost, and upgrading it down the road. Thanks again for all the suggestions guys.

The galaxy 560ti? Thats a great card at a great price, no qualms about that. (btw, i got the ares over patriot cause of the timing's and voltages)
Hope you chose the 3570k from the get go, if you forsee yourself upgrading to a current gen product in the future, you are better off buying it and not wasteing money on place holders.
woops, realized my 3570k links was switched with mobo link
Edit: realized my links werent broken and ****ed up the links for the last 2 mins(sorry), its 2am
Edit Edit: don't get the sapphire 6850! XD(unless you plan to crossfire in the future then good on ya XD)
Edit (3x): 560ti has best price/performance out of those 3 cards

I'd suggest you take the 7850 over the 560ti. It's faster and it's newer gen, so it would provide better resale value in the future.
It's a computer.

yep

also wanted to say something about storage solutions. If you want to meet your 1tb goal, you could do a 2x 500gb deckstar raid 0, skip ssd's(raid 0 configs are plenty fast by themselves) and save abit o cash.(for graphics cards)

Saving tips in general: if you need to save money, dont downgrade components and buy better in the future. Buy highend components and forgo completely non essential items. For example, dont have to buy a cpu cooler, ssd, or optical drive immediately now do we You can buy them later.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/batO is what looks close right now

how important is a ssd? because right now the price of everything is reletively close to my budget according to this link. if I can live without it the dual 500gb would be a reasonable switch. also decided to go with the 7850.

http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=65701&vpn=ST1000DM003&manufacture=Seagate&promoid=1223 I guess we are done here arent we.

REMEMBER THE COUPON CODES, THEY DONT SHOW UP IN SYSTEM BUILDER
(cut the cpu cooler, most non essential item, if you are having trouble making ends meet, newegg always offers free shipping on all orders regardless of rediculously small size)
