Budget Home Theater Receiver and Sub upgrade ($350-max)...SOLVED

Thread Starter
My parents HT reciever and sub had a power supply failure, so I am giving them mine, allowing me to buy a new reciever. Currently i am using a Pioneer VSX-820 and aPolk PSW10

This reciever will be used with polk audio Monitor (TSi) speakers ( 2x monitor40's, 2x monitor 30's, 1x monitor CS2) and the new sub.

I found a good deal on a Definitive Technology ProSub60 for only $120, so im thinking of getting that.

My main focus of this system is for music listening in my "studio apartment" (fraternity bedroom, 11'x13'x10' (LXWXH) with the capability of expanding to good enough Movie Watching. I understand that i will eventually upgrade my Front Speakers, but as for now, i don't have that money.

If you join Club Onkyo you get 10 points to redeem, currently they have a special going for members that brings the price down to 230 or so shipped to your house. Comes with a 1-year warranty, its a refurb, you can get a 2 year add on warranty for another 40. My deck came with the Audessy Microphone and a controller so you aren't getting just the receiver.

You won't get much for $230. The Onkyo 309 is here though. wink.gif

All i need is a 5.1 Receiver that connects my TV to 2 HDMI devices. Really its a pretty simple setup, I just want the best audio possible for this that will be powerful enough for a pair of Floor Standing speakers

Would this Denon be to much? I use one with my Polk M70's and CS2 center in my bedroom. It is actually a Denon 1911 rebadged for stores like BB.
