fx4100 vs i3-2100 is more of if he'll overclock or not. Imo, the i3 is better gaming out of the box and it will let him upgrade to a better spec 1155 in the future, which in my opinion is better than a bulldozer(not sure about the next gen though). So yeah, I think we, the two of us, can come to a conclusion on this. If at any point in the future he plans to oc or go crossfire, go with the fx 4100+970. If he doesn't plan to do such things go, i3+h61. Fair nough?
