Should I be using GPU scaling? 7950 and M2762D 27" flatpanel

I have been in the habit for awhile of using enabling GPU scaling for my monitor. I thought it gives a better quality picture, but I think I started doing this several years ago.

Is this the case? Are you getting a better quality picture by letting enabling GPU scaling? If not, is there any point to doing it?

I think the only time it would be used is if you had a full screen app that didn't support your monitors native res, which for me is never. I would prolly bet money on a 7950 doing a better job at scaling than a monitor if you needed it to though.

Hmm so any chance you're getting better image quality by going with GPU scaling? That's what I always remembered as the reason I enabled it but I've been doing it for so long I'm not sure if that's accurate (or ever was).
