Framerate and Audio issues with new Intel build - Page 2

p95 uses memory while it tests so you might need to run a custom test to lessen the amount of RAM being used. Or you could try an Intel Burn test with regular settings set at like 100 runs.

I've let it run for the past few hours, and the results.txt file says all the tests have passed so far. For whatever reason though, I've lost the GUI of the program so I can't check the current status but in task manager I can see the program still running. I just checked the Asrock motherboard page, and the latest version is p1.20; My motherboard is on p1.00, so I'll download that and run it in a few hours, I just want to give P95 a little longer to run but I don't think that's the problem.

EDIT: I gave the tests 10 hours, and there was zero errors across all of my cores, and I just updated the BIOS to the latest version and still no luck; I even tried to play TF2 in a window but still audio crackling and game lagging. I think that means it's down to the motherboard that's something wrong with the motherboard, since Prime95 ruled out CPU and RAM, and I placed TF2 onto my HDD (from the SSD) and that didn't solve it, so that also rules out the SSD, meaning the motherboard is the only thing left, and I just updated the BIOS for it; I'm can't really think of anything else what's wrong.

Well if you feel content that that is indeed the issue RMA it and see if that fixes the problem. Hopefully you went through a good website to buy it like newegg and that process should be reletively painless. You might have more issues RMAing it through ASUS depending on their policies. keep up updated and GL thumb.gif

btw on the prime95, if you click on the notification tab on the bottom right hand corner of your screen you will see the prime icon and if you double click that it will show you the testing workers.

Well there's already a problem with the motherboard, since the CPU fan pins are a little dodgy, so I'll RMA as soon as I can; Going several days without playing games is slowly getting to me, haha. I've ruled out everything that I can think of, so the last thing I can think of is faulty hardware. I'll let you know how it goes, and I hope it ends all of these problems. Thank you for all your help, so here you go. smile.gif

Yeah, I only just realised about that when I was looking through my notifications, I didn't realise that it minimised to the tray, but thanks!

Alright, I finally managed to get it RMA'd and I ended up going with my first motherboard I was going to pick (Gigabyte GA-H77-D3H) and I connected everything and I've been playing Team Fortress 2 for about 20 minutes and no spikes/lag/framerate/dodgy audio so I think I'm good. I have another problem though. My computer doesn't boot when I have my Samsung SpinPoint F3 plugged/connected to my motherboard, it just hangs at trying to boot up. Anyone know why this would stuff up?

Also, speedfan is having a fieldday: http://puu.sh/Gu9g

Anyone know why it's not showing the correct values/names? There's no way anything could be that high in temperature at all!

EDIT: After using my computer and trying to install stuff my computer locked up, and now it doesn't boot. I go to the BIOS and I check the boot order and my SSD isn't even showing up! If I go to the save / exit page on my BIOS, my SSD, HDD and CD Drive are all listed and I can do a boot override, and it boots without any problems. Anyone know what's going on?

New motherboard means new BIOS drivers =P. Have you updated those yet? I would start there. I don't use speed fan at all so I have no idea what's going on there. Also unless you have a really similar mobo with the one you replaced you might need to do a fresh OS on that HDD.

That's a start. Let me know how it goes and GL thumb.gif

I got the latest version of the BIOS for my motherboard but no changes; I've been having some issues again; my entire computer is lagging (like if I mouse over something it takes half a second for it to be highlighted) and I have to reboot my computer to get it fixed. I've got Team Fortress 2 minimised and it's slow as well and I've tested with another game and still lagging; confused why it's even happening.

That's no good. Did you open task manager to see if anything spikes when it lags? That might pinpoint an issue. sounds almost like your RAM is being maxed out. you might have a bad stick.

I don't think it's RAM, I think it's just a software problem; I ran a virtual machine yesterday with 4GB of RAM allocated and I had zero issues, and I ran my computer all day yesterday and it didn't pop up; when it pops up again I'll just think to what I did before it to see what's messing things up.
