Not in the least bit. If you can wait a little bit longer the GTX 660 is supposed to be coming out soon somewhere in the 199-249 price range. Would blow that 560 away

It will run hot and consume more power but it will poop on that GTX 560.

I have to agree with derp. That is a good deal if you wan't to stay with a single card solution. Two 460's would surpass that 480 in performance and you can get them cheap used. I have been running SLI 460's for two years now with minimal issues as stated before.

Agreed. This will also drop the price for cards from the previous generation.

Ya it will work and run fine, you loose 5%-10% in a x4 slot. So if you were running at an average of 50fps you would loose 2-5 frames with a x4 slot, so really not a big deal unless you are running something like a 680.

Ok so I can could run 3 graphics cards on my gigabyte 990xa ud3? It has 3 pcie slots that will run at x8,x8 and x4

Ya, absolutely. Like I said, you would get a small performance loss due to the x4 , but with 3 gpu's it wont matter. What gpu's are you are you going to run?

I don't know either gtx280's or 480's but I don't know other people are telling me that I can't do it on my board because the sata ports share the pcie x4 lanes

gtx 460's and 560's can only run in 2 way SLI.
