yes, although you're looking at losing performance and still needing to get display port adapters. a 7850 is a better choice than either of those.

There are adapters like you said, not sure what you are asking. DP is the best port for display over any other ports such as HDMI, DVI-D and etc.

how much is really being lost? I neglected to mention the card I have hits 100 degrees at times, so it doesn't exactly work well as is.
