Another "best 2.1 sound set up" thread.

Thread Starter
I'll be the first to admit, I'm not good when shopping for audio. I'm looking for a 2.1 for my PC, mainly for games and casual music [Mostly punk/pop punk, etc] I like my sounds loud and punchy though. Don't have an exact budget so I'm willing to give everything a look-over.

Thanks for any help guys! thumb.gif

I believe the Creative T3 is a good choice for a 2.1 but is on the expensive side. I'm using the T20 which is a 2.0 setup and the base is on par with cheaper 2.1 setups.

Maybe not within your price margin, but some of the Bose Companion series systems are pretty nice

what IS your price limit? or margin?

a sound card, maybe the asus one that has the breakaway section with RCA out

http://www.swanspeaker.com/products/products.aspx?cid=5&sid=0&pid=25

and a sub

sidenote: i really think 3.1 should be the standard. or 3.2. i really like the center channel.

prolly the best thing u could do is get a 5.1 receiver and passive speakers and a sub.

Gazzooks,

You guys are being mean today!!!

So for a tigher not a SUPER OVER DONE RAP bassy hit you are going to want a faster hitting 8inch or a 10 inch sub and then for the mid/highs i would get a nice ... NICE pair of book shelves.

Do you have anything to power these and whats your pre out and whats your amp ????

cheaper set up (175$):
Bookshelf Sony 69$
Sub 8 inch Bic(109$)

What I wish i could have():
Bookshelf Polk (379$)

Sub Klipsch 10 inch(385$)

SO the range can go A lot higher if you want too .....
I got some where in between those two, I ended up Craigs listing and found some GREAT DEALS! so keep that in mind to .. it is worht going around adn listening to what you like too ... took me a few weeks to find the right pair and what not of book shelfs for me smile.gif (I ended up spending 120$ on a 700$ pair of Titans v3 Paradigm, and then 200$ on a amp and a then a few other things ... but that sounded amazing to me wink.gif )

Hope this helps you on your way ! smile.gif

A budget is needed. wink.gif You can't just say "no budget' otherwise you'll get $10,000 speakers recommended to you. tongue.gif

Are you wanting REAL speakers, or cheapo PC / multimedia speakers? How much room do you have? What's your room size like?

You need to answer some questions before we can give you real advise.
