Intel Core I5 3570K
Asus P8Z68-V LX
Corsair Vengeance 8Gb DDR3 1866MHZ
Corsair H60 (i know the one poster said i should avoid it but i will give it a try)
Evga GTX 680 Super clocked
1.5TB HDD (I know should get an SSD but it can wait a few months)
BFG 750W SLI PSU
So thats be basics of the build aside from my case.
Thanks
Looking great. The only thing I would recommend is saving some money and going for 1600mhz RAM. You won't see any improvement in gaming/everyday use with 1866mhz. Also for the H60, I have an H100 and I love it. I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with the H60.

i reccomend getting http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5309345&CatId=2534 in case of getting Sli so that you wont ever worry about getting anything fried. it probably only costs a bit more than what you chose. make sure its 80+ bronze/gold/ Thermaltake, Coolmaster, mod x treme, or any brand like that. i also believe that a single gtx 670 is better because a 680 doesnt really have a big improvement(3-5%) for around 140 $... you should get 1600 mhz ram, 1333mhz is enough, 1-2% difference between 1333 and 1600... fortunately, 1600 is cheaper than 1333 mhz, get this instead tongue.gif http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233202 with the money saved from gtx 670, save and buy a 256 gb ssd drive for $199-, wait for a deal though.

sorry for bad grammar, but english is my 3rd language

hey,

Well it was $1000, but the wife just said i can spend $1200-$1300. All the parts are being bought from wintroniccomputers.com as it's the shop right down the street from me. Keep in mind that that budget must include a GTX 680 everything else i'm willing to take suggestions on. I was stuck on the X79 platform but i gave that up after days of reading reviews and posting on fourms it was hard but i did it tongue.gif

Also i could consider getting parts from newegg.ca or ncix.com but that would then mean the budget would have to include shipping.

Thanks

Don't change a thing, except perhaps putting off the RAM upgrade a bit if you want to (check the VMware performance you're getting first?). And you could consider getting a 670 instead of 680 if you wanted to avoid somewhat the 680's ridiculous cost...

True about the 670. An Asus DCII TOP 670 with a good OC can be equal to a stock 680 for $100 cheaper. Might be something you want to think about, and put that towards an SSD or better cooler like an H100.

Hey guys,

ya the PSU, Memory, MB, HD or from my old build i'm re-using them for now. i will be getting a couple of SSD's in the future and a PSU & MB when i decide to go SLI. I know the 670 isn't for off from the 680 but the wife picked the card and she won't ket me change it tongue.gif

Thanks

I would think it's a golden build, only thing I would change is the H60. Not that it's a bad cooler but I would get a H100, it will future proof itself when you overclock it abit later on and don't need to get another cooler.

The 670 is better "bang for your buck", but the 680 has 5% better performance. Either would be an awesome card IMO.

I would get the H100 but according to Antec it won't fit in my Antec 900 Two V3 case.

Maybe an H80 or an Antec Kuhler920? Both would give you better temps for a higher overclock, while still looking nice. A nice air cooler would also work but be huge.

Just some suggestions.
