Apogee Drive II setup

Thread Starter
Im planning on going with water cooling for my 1090t and Gigabyte GTX 670. The parts I plan to buy:
Swiftech Apogee Drive II
Heatkiller or EK GTX 680 waterblock
Magicool dual 180mm rad

This totals (with tubes and fittings) to about $400. Good?

The loop will be as follows rad---cpu block/pump---gtx670---rad

My space is very limited because I am putting this all into a Powermac g5 case. Because of this, I have a few questions:

Will the ADII alone be enough for the dual 180mm rad, gpu and cpu blocks? (about 1000lph)

How necessary is a resevoir?

Should I shell out an extra $40-50 for a push-pull setup rather than just two fans?

Thanks for the advice.

The ADII uses a 35x pump. It will feed twice the parts that you have, so no worries there.

Res is a must, unless you love frustration.

P/P is better by a very small margin. When you hit that cooling wall and want/need/begging for that last few degrees it will be worth it. But if yer not there yet, it's something you can easily add later, no big deal.

I'm one of those rare AD2 owners out there and the pump is a beast while virtually silent when not at 4k rpm. If youre going for the CSQ EK block (the one with the EK link) Youll want a 90 and 45 degree compression fitting to make a good bend to the AD2 especially with 1/2 3/4 tubing. I really didn't like the inlet and outlet ports of the pump, it doesn't seem that tough (subjectively). So try to have the least tension on them by using good straighter bends and less tension.

BTW its an FT02 so the mount orientation is sideways.

My loops was frustrating to fill (res>gpu>pump/cpu block>rad>res) Its probably good if you wanna put a fillport just by the inlet of the pump, filling with a syringe and airtight connection with a barb/fitting.

I am running with the AD2 aswell - The pump is rock-solid and silent (As stated above, when not running at 4K RPM).

I got AD2 for redundancy. Got a bum LED, won't light up but the pump is functional at least.

Alright, I've changed my plans a little. Due to lack of space I will be going with a dual 120mm rad.
I have 200mm of space for my rad and fans.
Should I go with an Alphacool Monsta (80mm thick) with 4 fans?
Or two XSPC EX240s (35mm) side by side with 6 fans like fans/rad/fans/rad/fans?

Also, should I be cautious about the thickness of tubing I use? I want to have a good amount of tubing but not so much that it causes problems. Im thinking 1/2" OD.
