Cheapest barbs to get?

Thread Starter
I might be getting a RASA 240 kit without the bars and tubing. I'm wondering what barbs and where would be the cheapest to get?

So far I've got in a cart at ppc's x6 XSPC barbs + tubing for almost $30 shipped. I'm wondering if that cost can come down more?

I've been keeping an eye in the marketplace but only seeing them at $5 or $6 each.

The XSPC barbs are the cheapest I have seen for new ones unless you can find some used.

They're not "too cheap" are they? Like "you get what you paid for" type quality?

barbs are like $2.50-3 each typically. you can get clear tubing (masterkleer) for .40/ft at mcmaster.com (same as any other clear tubing)

from my experience, cheap barbs do the same exact thing as expensive barbs. ive never had cheap ones malfunction or cause any sort of problem in one of my water cooling loops. i think some of the main reasons people pay more for barbs is either the color (non-silver is more expensive usually) or the name brand (who cares?).

these are $4 from newegg. normall yi wouldnt buy watercooling things from the egg, but in this case it comes with free shipping, whereas youll need to pay for at least $5 shipping from places like FrozenCPU and sidewindercomputers

Many cheap ones here, I actually use a mixture of the super cheap XSPC and EK ones and have had no problems.

EDIT: Use USPS First Class for $2 shipping 3-5 days, but usually within 3.

Yeah... $8 shipping from PPC's was the main turn off for me... thanks for heads up on that.

Though I do have to pay 8% tax at egg... but it certainly adds another option.

Dont get cheap barbs. If you do, enjoy leaks.

Buy Bitspower 1/2" barbs and use 7/16" tubing.

Barbs: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_346_393_613&products_id=22621

Tubing: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_413_415&products_id=3705

No fuss, no leaks, no ugly clamps.
