I would say that my sig rig is a mid-end system and my wife's rig is a low end system. I would like to make my 2 gpu's a bit quieter by water cooling but it's alot of money and not worth it untill I get a Haswell chip and mobo with a set of 9970's or 8970's.

Agreed. There's a certain (price) point where water-cooling is appropriate. The only feasible reason I could see for water-cooling such a low-end rig (as per the OP's description) is if silence was a goal.

By the way, Jacobwt226, what kind of case do you have? Just because it supports two 120mm fans does not mean it will support any water-cooling radiators.

Looks like you'd at least be able to work out a 120mm radiator in the rear... not sure if you'd have room in the front for the inlet/outlets. You'd have to measure. Still, though, I really, really recommend you get better hardware before you attempt to water cool.

In your opinion what should be minimum spec of WC?

H80 for the cpu and a kuhler 620 for the gpu if you insists. h80 should fit the rear and the 620 rad to the front. both can be reused. there are clubs for both coolers where to seek advise.

I agree with most of the posts before. However, my ideology for building watercooled systems is reusability. If you'll be able to use this setup not just for one system, the benefit will eventually overcome costs. If you buy universal gpu block, and a nice cpu block in worst case scenario you will only have to buy/make brackets for them, when upgrading your system. I was able to buy all my wc parts (some were automotive or from compressed air systems) for 330$ including 2 high-end block and pump. Not using dedicated parts, like compression fittings for watercooling or special tubing, made it a lot cheaper, but it isn't the simplest way, as you have to make/fix many things by yourself.
