IMO free to play w/o hackers is 500 times better than $60 for MW3(or BF3 for that matter) + $30 for DLC and more hackers than anonymous
yes the game is simple and basic, but it uses some different devices to maintain the playstyle, essentially just a shooter, but it is a dx11 shooter with loads of legit players, open matches, upgrades, real world customizations, tweaks, and free DLC. the game gets 4/5 for me. the only think that i dont like about the game is that your gear is rented and not permanent(given you can make a lot of the items permanent though)
IMO if you havnt played it, DL it and give it a shot, the weapon customizations got me hooked. anyone thats ever built a custom rifle or even modded an AR would truly enjoy that aspect of the game thumb.gif

THIS, i finally found the place to make guns permanent, jesus, i've been playing a week, wish the so called "tutorial" would've mentioned that particular area and how much of a ripoff from your gained points. Don't like the system at all, worse version of grinding to get your weapons I've seen yet in an MOFPS leveling system.

Assuming I can get at least 150 GP per game (if i don't get my butt handed to me), every 10 minutes, congrats, i only got 900 in an entire hour, so 4 straight hours match after match so i can finally afford the actual RECEIVER! not including barrel, muzzle, scope, magazine, etc. for 1 gun. And no, renting those items for a day doesn't improve my GP gain aftermatch whatsoever, so its not even a type of investment for the money i spend for renting these items. Yeah, no thanx.

Either you're doing nothing every game or not playing much, every person I know, even bad players have at least 2 weapons and a lot of weapon modifications permed.

Permed you say? Didn't know you can see other people's loadouts and if they're permed or not. Where do I see this?

You can't see other people's loadouts, I'm talking about actually talking to people. Since I'm in one of the tops clans for BLR I get a lot of players that ask me for suggestions/if what they permed is good. If you perm the wrong thing or perm too much, you'll definitely get into some money problems with buying ZEN, but you should have no issues perming an entire loadout by your lvl 20s, which shouldn't take long to obtain.

Currently i get over 200GP per game, I have 11k stacked up in GP and i already brought all the main weapons via GP and i have over 15 perma weapon parts. a few perma armor things, And 2 Special helmets from the zen boxes :3

As its a game i like ill always have ago with the chance packs from time to time, I like to support this game, And dont come to the excuse this game is pay 2 win because it absolutely is not, Stock weapons are balanced EXTREMELY well and everything you put on your gun will be a sidegrade pretty much.

All this game is asking IF you want to Play for absolute free is time... Aprox 35 games of around 100-150+ GP and that would be about 6 hours IF the games all ended at the full 10 minutes time (and thats highly unlikely with 8+ players)

Why dont you moan and groan with these MMO's Where your PAYING 10-20$ to waste time? You can waste time on this game for FREE and have all the items possibly before the end of the year with a regular hour a day.

Also though, you dont NEED to have Perma items all the time You can build a whole gun for under 2500GP for a day, I rent out a few items because i can stack my GP easier and then buy stuff after

Also F2P games make there money this way, It has easily made a ton more money than if 1million people were to buy a full priced retail game for it, There is already over 1million registered players for this game and theres some complete F2Pers and some people that have blown over $300 on chance packs.

You should be surprised that you can ACTUALLY buy perma items with GP instead of all of them being rentals

This sums it up well, I had a lot of my SMG and assault rifle's stuff permed by lvl 25.

I tried it for a little while and did not like it as it feel a bit too pay for win. Especially compared to Tribes. As 0 GP n00b I get owned a bit too hard, in Tribes the initial equipment seem a bit better balanced in free vs bought stuff. In there equipment seems to do very significant difference.

If that is the case then I assume you didn't like BF3?

I mean in BF3 you start out with nothing and would probably get pwned by people with experience+unlocks. And in BF3 you can pay to unlock the weapons faster just like in this game. The unlock system is essentially the same in the two, but whether you pay or play for awhile, you can get the same weapons as everyone else.

I hope you know the stock weapons are balanced compared to a modded version. Every mod you put on your weapon gives it a boost and a downside. So stock is basically the middle field of whatever you go for whether it's accuracy, low recoil, high damage, high speed or what.

What is wrong with you? Did you get annihilated in game by someone or something? Because judging from your posts, it seems like you haven't actually played the game. Everything is really balanced and you can be amazing with the stock weapons.

Also, go hang out with some friends or something. Get drunk. Do something to cheer you up.

This game isn't like Tribes Vengeance where you literally have to pay to unlock (certain non-aesthetic) stuff or just feel like you're progressing at more than a dead snails pace.
You can earn enough to buy a new pre-fabbed gun at the end of every match if you're good enough in this game (which is why even after finding Tribes a lot of fun and praising the game many a time, this game instantly steps ahead imo).
This.

And in my opinion, Tribes Ascend just isn't fun like the old ones. There's something about it that doesn't appeal to me. The graphics are nice though. tongue.gif

I have BF3 and I haven't enjoyed the multiplayer portion. I do suck at it, but the unlock system in BF3 feels like it takes FOREVER to get something other than some sort of scope. I've been debating if I should buy BF3 Premium just to see if the better weapons make it any more enjoyable.

I much prefer this to BF3. I think I've already put more hours into this game's multiplayer than I did to BF3's.

Hm, I like my gold Alpha medal on my character, looks neat. Shiny skull.

But yeah, the game is worse than in beta. They took out hit indicators and you die much faster now. There's far to many times you just do not even realize you're being shot at. tongue.gif

Full of hackers already; but I mean cmon, what game isn't, especially free games? They were in the alpha even, so I knew I should expect it, if even on a more grand scale.

Game still runs beautifully and looks nice, making use of SSD's for very fast loading times, like the alpha and beta.
