Building a computer, need an opinion on a PSU

Hi guys, I made a post looking for general advice for my build in a different section, and a few PSU comments came up. I just wanted to get your advice on my (PSU choice, PSU Corsair TX650 V2 ATX (62.99 @ NCIX))

I used the PSUCalc in the sticky and it told me to get something in the 550w range. But a one member recommended a lower PSU, ( Antec Neo Eco 450c) I just wanted to know if it would be enough and if it would be able to power my GPU gtx 570?

  • PSU brands are meaningless look up the OEM
Better to a bit to much power then to little i would say go with 600-650 watts

a PSU operators best at 80% so something between 550 and 650 is best of couse you can go lower if you want

Got it, I did want a little extra wattage so it woudnt be in the last gear. But would the one that I picked be able to power my gpu?

450W should be okay for powering your GTX 570 (just barely). However, it will leave little room for adding graphics cards or multiple hard drives.

the TX 650 wouldn't be a bad choice. it would leave room for over clocking and expansion later down the road and its a good quality unit.
