e6400 oc temps

Thread Starter
these are my prime 95 load temps. high 40's in TAT and core temp as you can see.

However, my TAT load temps are in the low-mid 50's in TAT, and 58c in core temp, while being maybe 42-43c in speedfan.

I'd like to push my OC more, but what do you guys think?

edit: my speedfan temps are: 1 is mobo, temp 2 is cpu, temp 3 is bogus

I would err on the side of caution and use TAT as the deciding factor. Besides, TAT is from the core(s).

It's a little high. I would try to keep it all below 50C, and below 55C for sure just to be on the safe side (Full load on both cores - P95 x2). Even at 50C there is some headroom for temp spikes.

Consider how long you want to use this CPU. If the answer is around 12-24 months I think you are oaky, as the lifespan will be shortened. As to how much shorter, I can not say with any real experience.
