Computer Freezes but my mouse still works, Problem REACURED! PLS HELP

I just built this pc and i have been having this problem since my net framework was installed. maybe even before that. certain programs like hardware monitor started the freezing, but i have since deleted it. i can log in and do stuff and play games, but after a certain point if im not using the mouse or keyboard it freezes. it hasnt frozen yet while playing a game. i can boot into safe mode fine.

Asrock Fatal1ty champion X79
Intel i7 3820
seagate HDD
Evga GTX 680
Antec Cp850
4x4GB Samsung Green 1600 mhz

Hi, Sounds like it could be a driver issue. I would start by ensuring that you have all the latest drivers installed.

Also check that you have configured the RAM correctly in the bios along with checking the CPU voltages and multipliers are correct ect all the usual stuff. the X79 stuff along with all the higher end "enthusiast" stuff is not quite so plug and play/plug it in and it works as the mainstream stuff is.

Alternatively try resetting the bios.

thanks alot, i installed the new beta drivers for the 680, and installed all the drivers from the mobo cd. im running a memtest right now to see if there is an issue with the ram. do you know where i can find the cpu voltages and multipliers. when i last went into my bios it was all set to auto.

Ok go the motherboard website and download the latest bios release and update the bios as Asrock have released some memory compatibility updates.

After that go to the motherboard website once again and download the latest drivers from there, the CD ones will be outdated i would imagine.

As for the graphics card you want to be running the latest STABLE release. BETA ones can sometimes give you errors just like what you are having.

As for checking timings ect. First lets get everything up to date before we start messing around with settings.

i reinstalled, installed the all the new drivers etc... i was listening to music and it started sounding real glitchy, completely wrong. i went to restart and the windows key noise was full blast and was completely off. a total glitched out whacked out noise. i rebooted and my music was fine, but quiet, real quiet. even on full volume it was like on 20 % before. and thats when it froze again. the problem still exists, i think its the mobo... any advice help apreciated

yeah, i would say it is a hardware issue well could could RMA your motherboard and see what happens when you get a new one.

One important thing i have left out, im on Windows 8

same freezing occurs with many other people. looks like ill just have to revert to windows 7 for the time being, but damm windows 8 is fast
