Nope.
2) How does using an antivirus affect your system?
It slows it down a bit. It also makes it 99.99% impossible for malware to get into your machine.
3) Have you ever been infected by malware?
No.
4) How should someone handle an infection?
Malwarebytes IMO.

Yes, MSE and MBAM.

Slows down the internet connection and pc.

3) Have you ever been infected by malware?
Once or twice and here and there.

4) How should someone handle an infection?
Disable system restore, clean out the %temp% folder and scan away with multiple software.
As one never gets them all. Have to go at it from all angles.
