Smallest case that will fit an Asus Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard

Thread Starter
When I went out and decided to go out and build my computer I saw the Cosmos II and fell in love instantly and love it to death. However I will be heading to college in a couple of months and at the time of purchase was not thinking that far ahead. I am a bit worried that it might be a bit to big for my college dorm room and am going to need to downgrade case size potentially. I am still going to keep my Cosmos II but will need something a bit smaller for college life. I am asking you the people of OCN what is the smallest case that will fit my E-ATX motherboard and the other components of my current rig. Including: One GTX 680, A corsair AX1200 power supply, a Corsair H100 in push, pull, a 3630k, 2 hard drives, one ssd, and one disk drive, and mainly the Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard. The budget for this case would like to be around 100-150 USD but if there is something that is more and is given reason why I should go beyond that limit, I will look into it.

Thank you for your help in advance for those who are willing to assist in this question.

Hi, I am looking at getting almost the same setup as you with the exception of putting in a ASUS GTX 690, but I have been stuck on the case and cooling for the past month. Is the H100 overkill or would a H80 do? And what case did you go for in the end, as I have been looking at the Corsair 300R but not sure if it would fit or maybe the Corsair 600TM.

I already own the system with the Cosmos II and it is just freaking huge and I am worried about the size for college. The H100 in push pull is amazing for overclocking but if you are not overclocking, you shouldn't need the H100. The smallest case that I found that would hold all these parts was the Fractal Design Acr Midi. Make sure you search the Midi and not the Mini because they both exist and the Mini is for M-ATX boards while the Mid can support the rampage extreme and H100 in push pull.

Hope This helps.

Cheers, I will have to go with a Corsair Graphite 600TM Mesh Window Case.. The 300R is a bit too small and might drop back to a AX850 power supply. I do plan to overclock in the future.. hence why I want the Rampage IV

My recommendation is the FT02 with or withour window. I have measured it up and it will definately fit the Rampage, even if you decided to watercool one day no problemo. Believe me I almost went down this path, but ivy is the go for me now The FT02 doesn't mention support for E-ATX but it will definately fit it as will the 600t also

I have both the 600t and FT02B-W, for overall cooling out of the box FT02 is one of the best. It looks sleek, where as the 600t bulkier. I will give credit to the 600t in that the cable routing is second to none, not saying the FT02 is bad or a pain in anyway, its just not as nice and as simple.

Arc Midi will fit it.
