Looking for new monitor. Have about $1,250.00 budget.

Was looking at the dell u3011 but i think I would rather go 27" 16:9. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have also been looking at the samsung series 8 and 9 high res monitors. Main use would be gaming. Specs for rig in sig. Please help I can't decide. Thanks a lot.

Was thinking about 120hz but I think I would rather have the higher resolutions. I wish they made a 120hz with higher than 1080p res.

At that price point, maybe dual screens? 1 2560x1440 monitor and another high end 27 in TN panel for gaming?

Ya that's what I was thinking also. The problem is the nice 2560x1440 are almost my entire budget. I would love to have a cheap 120hz for first person shooters and then a high res IPS for work and some RPG's and stuff.

Do you guys think a 16:10 ratio is bad for a primarily gaming monitor. I would love to go 30" like the dell u3011, but if there will be bars in most games I guess 27" 16:9 would be better for gaming.

I wish there was a 30" 16:9. I really want the biggest screen I can get while keeping the high resolution. I have a sony 47" but 1080p isn't that great at that size.

I do not think you will get bars with games... just movies....

HP is the same but with warranty... but with CrossOver you can buy warranty too for $50 extra from US

I think I should get the best IPS I could get right now. The Samsung series 9 27" is $1,199.00 which is right at my budget and then when I get more money get a cheap 120hz TN panel for faster games.
