That would be cool. Not really gonna watch movies. The only reason I was worried about 30 in was the black bars.

That is an awesome deal. I know manufacturer specs don't mean much but the high 12ms makes me nervous.

Thanks a lot for the link. Those monitors are so tempting. I am worried about the backlight bleed as seen below. I love playing in a dark room and the Sony 47" I have is edgelit LED and the backlight bleed/clouding drives me crazy.

"7. What's the difference between a A-, A or A+ display?

While these use the same LG S-IPS panels found in Dell, HP, or Apple monitors they are the "rejects" so to speak that didn't quite meet the company's quality standards. In our case, we might have some minor backlight bleed (normally found in the bottom right-hand corner) and some dead or stuck pixels."

what about running a 3 monitor eyefinity setup? I was looking into the Dell 2312m's or 2412m's, you could get 3 of either of those and a nice stand for under your budget. Just something to consider I know it is easy to get caught up in getting the newest "best" monitors but some of the eyefinity setups I have seen are awesome.

I guess all monitors will have some drawbacks. I have to decide which bothers me the least. I don't get paid till friday so I have some time to decide.

watch dell's website, they often discount the u2711 (i just bought one) to ~$700, and u3011 to ~$1000-1050 (its at $1050 now in canada).

I'm enjoying my monitor but coming from a 1920x1200 (16x10) I do notice an aspect ratio difference in general use, but for video its pretty nice.

The HP panel is the best for gaming out of the high res 27 in models from the big manufacturers (i.e. not including the korean monitors). Anand did a good writeup of it:

Ya I have definitely been thinking of going that route especially with my 680's but I have never gamed like that or even seen it in person so I am not sure if I will like it.

Like I said I have the worst time making decisions, that's why I started this thread.

Whenever I buy something I return it like 3 times and still end up hating what I chose and sometimes wishing I went with the first one I returned.

I have some issues.
