Recommend me a dremel...please

Thread Starter
So I had a dremel 200 that burned out on me, currently I am borrowing my buddies dremel xpr 400 but with the 2 cases I am currently building and extensive cutting of metal using these and the age of his xpr I am in constant fear of it burning out and me being on the hook for it. So I think my next paycheck I am buying a replacement for mine, using the xpr I have fallen in love with the flexi shaft and the precision it allows.I am looking at the Dremel 4000, can anyone confirm or deny that this is the way to go? I have been building so much and having so many requests for mods I need something that will hold up and really improve my work

Thank you ahead of time
TLP

That does look pretty sick, my only issue is I really like the flexi shaft the rotary tools have, that thing looks like to would be kind of a pain to maneuver around the inside of a computer case.but since we are on the subject of awesome tools that we " have" to have

Thanks to this thread I'll be getting the Dremel Trio and the Dremel 4000. I am new to case modding and have been looking for tools for the job. These two look like the perfect versatile pair of tools I need. They look like between the two they can tackle all modding needs.

If you're doing "extensive metal cutting" you should buy a real die-grinder, not a hobbyist die-grinder.

If you want the horsepower, the 4000. Or even better, a real grinder.

If you want a relatively small, versatile tool, the 300 is a good choice.

I own a 300, and it cuts through 2mm aluminium with relative ease at full speed, with the SpeedClic disks. I would've gotten the much more powerful 4000 if I didn't mill wood/plastic with it, but the 4000 was simply too big (in size) to let me mill those with comfort.
