ATI + Nvidia = Unstable?

In my sig rig, I have the 5770 and 8400gs running in my rig. The 5770 driving two 22" monitors at 1080p. Then the 8400gs driving a 20" at 1600x900. After adding the second card, I get an unstable machine. I have no idea why. My OC for my system was rock solid and would fold great and pass with flying color's in IBT and Prime95. But now with the 8400gs, it will pass IBT on extreme, and Prime for 6+ hours. But as soon as I turn folding on, it will throw up an unstable message and I'd be forced to restart my system. No BSOD. Just a bunch of garbage text, weird box looking figures, etc.

I had went out and bought a Displayport - DVI adapter to get rid of the 8400gs and run the three monitor's off the 5770. But I forgot I needed an active adapter, and I had bought a passive. So if anyone has any idea's on what this could be? I'd had to go out and spend 50 bucks on an active adapter if I don't need to.

Oh, and I did make sure to boot into safe mode, and clean off any video drivers before installing the 5770 and 8400gs. The card that was installed before was a 9800GTX+. Just throwin' that out there.

Thanks! thumb.gif

Eh, I misread your post thinking you had two 5770s. Try running with only one card active (with the other simply unplugged from the monitor) and see how they do (try both).
IIRC wiping old drivers was/is a problem that makes the new hardware strange. Although, I could see it being necessary with your combo. Try redoing it all?

That's what I did before, but I didn't use a "Driver Sweeper". Got any recommendations on a good one to use?
