Thats pretty high in the legal hitting power.
As far as international companies go and possible actions in the case of non compliance then... no large company so far has decided to see what really happens. I guess it would be pretty bad for business if you are banned from operating within EU, not to mention, it might be very tricky to manage your money if it must avoid any banks operating within EU.
Anyway.

I can't view the main article from work, so does this apply to mmo accounts?

I wonder how companies will have to deal with people selling their digital games and then calling and claiming they were hacked and want their game back. I assume a company like Steam would notice this if it happened often on the same account, but someone could scam a few thousand before they got caught doing this.

I wonder if it would cause an increase in the number of people stealing accounts and selling them. There would be more people trying to legally buy games. No idea if you could find out if you are being scammed before you bought it.

The news mentioned specifically license. So in that sense you could sell your WoW Lich King license, get it somehow removed from your Battle.net account and transferred into someone else account, however, your characters are still property of the company running the servers, as far as I understand it.

Eh, if they want to keep publishing/distributing in the EU they need to adhere to this. Steam and Origin are included in this, trust me.

This is a MASSIVE win for consumer rights!

Aren't people going to end up "farming" sales? Not that they didn't do that already (google "steam sale addiction"), but now with the prospect of making money from it, people will be on it like white on rice. Could end up like WoW/D3/whatever with markets within markets and such.
Not sure I like the possibilities tbh O_o

WEll, no-one is going to b uy them 100% of the price from someone else other than steam/origin. But it means cheaper games for other people. And Steam is well within their rights to limit the number of sales, etc.

Resell your games? Prices for those will drop so low that it won't justify time you'll spend writing ad...

I dont see the point though, Do people in the US actually get money from there PC games? (not selling to a friend or ebay, Just the local game stores? )

I can trade my pc games in yes... For like 50p or £1 if im lucky, Thats even if its a game that has only been released for a day and this is what EVERY shop would do so they cant get a fair amount of cash for there used PC games even if they have never been played, Plus they actually put them on the shelves to sell with the CD key most likely used or not included in the case at all.

This day and age though, I tend to buy my games during steam sales and GOG, Who uses DVD's now :/
