I want to buy two of these kits to create a quad channel setup and needed very low profile RAM to fit under my H80 cooler since the ram slots left of the cpu socket are directly below it

Will I have to manually set the correct voltage and timings for this RAM?

You shouldn't need to manually set the defaults, as they are standard JEDEC, but the defaults are far from optimal as the memory is capable of much more.

The Corsair H80's waterblock will not obstruct any ram slots on the Asus sabertooth X79 motherboard due to its extremely low profile, and top mounted inlet/outlet tubes.

Also who would electively pair a $370 enthusiast X79 motherboard with $49 entry level CAS 11 DDR3 1600 ram?

How is OP not trolling?

Samsung MV-3V4G3 is some of the best memory out there. It's frequently capable of DDR-2200 to 2400 at tighter than stock timings with 1.5-1.6v.

Even if it wasn't, the real world difference in performance between value DDR3-1600 and memory that costs several times as much is usually negligible.

The Radiator on my Corsair H80 cooler is what is directly above a couple of the RAM slots on my board ( I have the radiator mounted on the rear 120mm fan mount on my Corsair 600T.) I think you will find that jumping to conclusions often backfires on the instigator, as the poster Blameless has proven. doh.gif

I'm a bit surprised you'd boast the overclocking potential of value ram that does not come with a heat spreader when there are more intelligent alternatives on the market that come with 9-9-9-24 XMP profiles, and passive cooling solutions.

My apologies for assuming it was the cpu block obstructing the ram slots (a very common problem on x79) and not the radiator itself. Without a sig rig added to your account I only had my imagination and intuition to fill in the blanks. tongue.gif

After taking a look at a few pictures of your 600T Im starting to understand the situation you are facing. It is pretty obvious that mounting the H80 on the top or back is also out of the question due to the H80s tube length, and the radiators overall width. A shame really bc that would be quite a fun mod to do!
