Denon D2000s vs Beyerdynamic DT990s vs Other

Okay, I'm looking to spend around $300 on a nice set of headphones. I already have a Fiio E17, so I'm good as far as needing an amp is concerned.
Uses - 100% Dubstep. I have another pair of cans I use for gaming and shows.

So, I've been doing some research, and these two pair of headphones keep popping up for $300 bass oriented music. But, with both of them, they seem to be lacking in the mids and have a higher emphasis on the highs. I kind of need the opposite, if possible. Strong bass and clear mids as most of the bass notes in the styles of dubstep I listen to are paired with mid range freq sounds. The highs are important too, but they aren't more important than the mids, you know what I mean?
Perhaps, for what I'm looking for, my price range isn't high enough. And if that's the case, that's fine. I'm leaning towards the D2000s unless someone has some input. I've been reading they have a more even spread of sound than the 990s.

Any input is much appreciated.

The beyerdynamic dt990 is the better headphone in my opinion, especially for dubstep. Yeah the denon is more even but you won't be as pleased with them if you will only be listening to dubstep. The dt990 is very fun

Thanks!
I think I'm going with the DT990 Prem 600Ohm model. I read through this review/guide and the 600Ohm model has "the most detailed and transparent mids without being full on" along with "the smoothest treble" which is perfect. The bass has the floor, the mids play the background to the bass without taking over, and the treble coats it smoothly.
I'm in love.

DT 990 600 ohms need a lot of voltage to reach loud listening levels, just FYI. doctorhead.ru has them measured at 94.5 dB SPL / 1V input.

FiiO's sometimes a little bit optimistic with their power ratings, but they claim 30 mW into 300 ohms, which would take 3V (in practice, possibly a little less, but most probably above 2V). That would drive DT990 600 ohms to 104 dB then, at maximum. So no peaks can go over that. To be honest, that's loud enough for most tastes with most modern music releases, but if you're listening to something with a relatively wide dynamic range, it's on the low side. Some people say being able to handle 110 dB or even up to 115 dB is preferred, but they're mostly talking about well-recorded classical music where the average volume in the recording is much lower than the peaks.

I pretty much don't listen to any dubstep though, but I don't think any releases have a lot of dynamic range? Maybe?

The cheaper DT 990 250 ohms PRO would be about 5 dB louder.

get beyer ft 880 600ohm

in the past use beyer dt880 pro 250 ohm, to analytical, bad for noisy music and bad source
sold it

get denon 2000, i like the sound signature
but notice the sound quality not too realistic and lose to other audiophile grade headphone
if you want some quality, something to achieve where you could get it from other audiophile headphone
better pick beyer than denon

need to test denon before buy it
everyone who bought it like the sound signature
not the technicality from it

If you want mids and bass, I'd suggest Ultrasone HFI780s or Pro 900s.

Oh, nice. I just did some reading on the Pro 900s. Apparently, they are just awesomesauce for bass depth and keeping the bass separate from the rest of the spectrum. Looks like I'll shell out an extra $150 over the DT990 Pro and get the 900s.

If it helps,im listening to trance and dubstep almost all the time and my DT 990 is awesome for this. Mind that i have Titanium HD sound card and DT 990 PREMIUM's 250 ohm (not pro). When i tested both i found that premiums sound a lot better than pro 990.

As for pro 900,also checked them and i must say they sound great but i disliked sweating ears and heavy discomfort after like 30 mins, but i guess this is personal preference so You should try them out before buying.

Yeah, that's what I was reading too. That is kind of a turn off but, from what I'm hearing about the sound being so much better, and the fact that it seems to have the mid-range balance I'm looking for, I may just suck it up.
