I say Deus Ex:HR, I loved that game.

I love Batman's combat system. It's a perfect example of easy to play/hard to master. It's everything the witcher 2 wanted to be but CD Projekts implementation was not as good.

Batman's combat is pretty fun. I can't agree with the button mashing though, probably because the first thing I do with any game is set it to the max difficulty. In order to keep from getting spanked in the 10-12 or larger groups of goons I have to really have my timing right with my gadgets and counters.

Indeed. Batman on easy difficulties is boring and straight forward as far as combat goes.. but on the higher difficulties you actually have to use your gadgets and run away to set up kills.

I absolutely loved both games.

However, Deus Ex HR's boss battles were undoubtedly crummy, especially if you spec your character more toward stealth, like I did. But I'm a sucker for stealth games (Metal Gear Solid games are my all-time favorite games), and everything in the game that's not a boss battle is fantastic to play stealthy. I haven't played it otherwise, but I imagine it would be pretty decent to play run-n-gun or "tactical" as well. Its great stealth made it one of my all-time favorites.

I liked Arkham Asylum a lot, and I thought Arkham City would be a bit better, but wow. It was, somehow, way better (in my opinion, of course). It worked its way up to be one of my other all-time favorite games. Everything about it is just awesome, to me. I completed every task in the game, except for all of the Joker riddles (just way too many of those to keep being enjoyable, but they are fun and challenging to do occasionally). Arkham City also has its share of stealth, which also plays pretty well.

Overall, I vote for Arkham City as the first one to play, just because I like it more. However, they are both fantastic games, in my opinion, and you should play both! biggrin.gif

Only time I really get a twitch combat feel out of it is if I can spread the goons out and get 12+ combo quicker than they can close in for the increased speed, but even then I still have to watch carefully and pick which targets are closest/the most immediate threat.

What a load of crap. You might wanna try hard mode; I assure you the game isn't this simple. You have to use your gadgets to your advantage and try to max your combos...you die from a few gunshots, pressing X into every guy is gonna get you killed fast.

I absolutely love the combat system. It's the best I've ever played in an action game.

Just a tip if you're trying to get into the Batman games - do the combat challenges first and try to get 3 bats on all the levels. This way you'll master the combat system so you can play on hard mode for a more rewarding experience.

You'll be able to complete Arkham City much quicker than HR, as it really pulls you in and what can I say, im a huge batman fan and beating people up as batman is just too much fun. But HR was pretty good, great story, very creative RPG elements, and sometimes in the same playthru, i still completed the same objectives or just wandered thru locations and buildings just different paths to see which one would've been better. And to explore.
