GTX690 Temps

Thread Starter
Hi all,
Just changed my GTX680 x2 sli setup for an Asus GTX690 setup. However I notice @ stock clocks I have a 10c – 11c temperature difference between GPU1 and GPU2 under load (I have 3-4c temps differences on idle).

GPU1 under load of Battlefield 3 gets to around 87c – 89c and GPU 2 is 76c. I assumed that GPU 1 would take some load and I would see a 4-5c increase but not 10 -11c. The room temp is around 22c

My questions are - Is this normal? Does anyone else have the same temps? Also does anyone know the safe operating temps for this card?

I have Corsair 650d case and moved the drives so that there is lots of space behind the card. I have 4 fans I have keep the case relatively cool with good airflow.

Here are the specs of my PC:

Intel 3930K @ 4.7 ghz @ v1.272
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
32 gb Corsair Quad Channel (4x4gx2) Dominator GT 2133mhz
ASUS GTX690
ASUS Xonar Phoebus Sound card
OCZ Vertex 3 240G SSD x2
Corsair AX850 850w PSU
2 x WD Black 2TB
ASUS BDR/DVDR
Corsair H100 cooling
Corsair Obsidian 650D case
Windows 7 x64
450

one thing to try is to setup duct from the front part of the videocard. Another - try changing out the TIM and reattach the heatsink.

Actually, I will look at that. The main thing I am after is to find out if other people are having the same temp differences, is this is normal or not?

thanks, M

With my 690 I only get about 4-5 C difference between the GPU's if there is one. I'm thinking you may need a TIM job.

Getting 75C max in BF3 1440p Ultra, 2xAA,2xAF, HBAO.

Definitely sounds like a bad TIM job/bad heat-sink mount, either that or one side of the vents (maybe the side with the pci slot where it has a DVI connector blocking it?)
