I7 3930k 24/7 on stock no way!

O.K. all of experts for overclocking there is lot of instructions how to reach heaven with this processor but I can’t get normal mode. So -> multiplayer on 32 and everything else on auto it will give to me soon or later BSOD or high temps ??? I can manage 4.6 GHz 24/7 and then I decided to become “serious” and to swim in the calm waters.
So here is the task: I want all “C” things to be on to reach minimum voltage (way not) when processor is idle and to use real power of this processor in turbo mode when I needed. Looks like easy task but….mad.gif

OK, here's what you do:

1) Take off the cooler, and reply here with what cooler you have.
2) Remove any thermal paste on CPU and the cooler
3) Reapply new thermal paste on the CPU, just a little bit, the size of a pie.
4) Reseat the cooler firmly.
5) Reply to us with the motherboard you're using.
6) Follow this guide to overclock your CPU.
7) Done. smile.gif

You didn't understand problem!
My cooling system is OK (how i can run on air 4.6 GHz if TIM is wrong???)
I don't want to go "EXTREME" i just want my machine on normal stock parameters!
Does anyone know what is stock voltage for this CPU? What i try to say is that this magic automation does not work properly! Your guide is excellent, but I pay 600$ +200$ mobo +100$ cooler for what? To play a game burning my processor??? For this kind of money must to be something like Plug & Play. Sorry But this time Intel (or ASUS) made big mistake.
As I state I can manage System to work on Hi speed but if i want my system to be simple internet browsing machine there is no way.I don't want to enter BIOS 3-4 times per day.
To be more clear on auto this CPU require >1,3V in Turbo mode so if you start something serious you will find your self preparing eggs for breakfast on CPU. To see whats going on i started Prime95 and after couple of minutes I get BSOD!!!! If I use offset mode for VCore (offset voltage -0.12) things are better but couple of times my system was frozen with no reason.
What will happened if you bay latest model of BMW and with key you get note: "Before starting engine you have to adjust valves. "
Any how can someone say to me where i'm making mistake.

SOLVED I found new way to overclock I7 3930k smile.gif If you are about to reach minimum power state of this processor or better to say if you plan to use "amazing" Turbo option you will be dead until you are not using "Additional Turbo Voltage" option from CPU Performance settings (ASUS P9X79) Somehow with this option you are able to go under 1.3V how much this processor require in automatic Turbo mode. Just set Manual VCore voltage in range 1.1 to 1.2 and test -> i found for my system that VCore 1.165V and Additional Turbo voltage 0.400V give to me under 100% load 1.136V in CPUZ .
