I understand abo9ut the problems they'd run into remaking FF7 such as having to postpone development of other games such as the next Final Fantasy, costing a lot of money to develop and stuff but It's in huge demand, If they were to remake It I bet they'd sell tons of copies.

FFVII is clearly the best in the series IMO as well as many, many, many others.


To those of you who do not think so, you're entitled to your opinion. However, you should consider the sheer publicity, media, and even direct statements and acknowledgements from Square Enix themselves regarding how its the most requested remake of any of their games. They've even expressed interest and consideration of actually going through with this provided they had the resources.

I'm kind of torn on whether I think it's a good idea to remake it or not. I played hundreds of hours of the original back in the 90s. It was novel back then because it was the first of the series to be 3d polygons and the captivating story, great music, etc. But would they just remake cutscenes? Would they try to recreate and improve resolutions in areas? or would they try to make it 3rd person? If they made it 3rd person, *** would happen to the battles?

Its obviously not going to make as much of an impact on the gaming world as it did initially, but if they put a lot of money into remaking the entire game's battles, areas, and such I think it would ruin it. I guess my point is that I'd like it to look like it is still Squaresoft's work and not Square Enix's

TL:DR @ whole thread.

1. buy Advent Children. 2. Watch Advent Children. 3 give up on a proper remake as Square does not exist anymore. 4. Watch Advent Children every time you get 'feelings' about FF7.

FF7 = amazing game.
Square Enix = stupid.

they should have remade it years ago and made a shed load of cash from it. no duh! but Square-Enix they say 'duh?' and when they go under in ten years they will say 'aaaauuh derp!'.

but i did like AC.

This seems oddly.....stupid.


If they upgraded the video to 1080p and fixed all the bugs that were in the original it would be worth rebuying....id rather continue to enjoy it on my PS1 or PC emulator. I don't see this being a very big "hit" especially when they cut out steam.

OCN amazes me to no end. they call FF7 a terrible game but the games they usually say that are good are really boring and stupid. am I the only one here that thinks skyrim sucks? it's a very loved game here in OCN but I can't force myself to play that stupid game
