Hyper 212+ and Corsair 300R - how to set up air flow?

Thread Starter
So I'm going to be getting the last pieces of my sig build tomorrow, and now I'm trying to figure out how I want the airflow to go for the whole case.

I have 2 fans installed in the case, 2 for the cooler, and 2 more sitting around, not sure where I want to put them though. Pretty sure one is going in the front with the one that came in the case. But the second, do I do the side, or top? And if so, which direction should it be?

Side fan:

338

Top fan:
338

I've decided to have the PSU take air in from the bottom (it's a cold aluminum floor). If I go with the top fan and setup 2 (vertical cooler), what should the rear fan be doing? Or top fan with the horizontal cooler? I am so inexperienced with figuring out air flow.

Heat rises. Simple as that.

Also, that drawing is a little hard to understand. You do realize that the PSU is completely isolated from the system, correct? It takes air in the bottom, and pushes it out the back.

I was just showing the PSU as a means that it won't remove any warm air from inside the case, so adding a bit on uncertainty of needing some sort of fans to pull out warmer air.
I'm going to try the top fan first I think, but with it taking warm air out of the case, and keeping the CPU cooler horizontal, and moving fans around from there as needed.

God I'm sick of hearing that. Heat radiates. Hot air rises because it expands and is lighter then cool/heavier air. But add a fan and air goes where it is pushed or pulled.

*You need 50mm clearance under case for bottom intake to get air without too much resistance.
*Top or back exhaust from cpu cooler are both good. I build a duct from cooler to vent so all hot air from cooler goes out vent.
*Where is your GPU?

Heat rises, and if you let it do so it will present warmed air to your heatsink, compromising your cpu cooling. Simple as that.

Air goes where you push it. Push air away from your cpu -- top intakes are good for that. Even the weakest fan can overcome the hot-air-rises effect. Simple as that.

Exactly, if you put a fan in blowing downwards it will again force it down. However, you shouldnt really have the heatsink blowing out the top. That way it's sucking air in from your graphics card which will increase CPU temps. Better to have a fresh current of air

i would have it blowing out the back instead of the top, doesn't work as well as you think it might,
