Amd athlon 4400+ @ 2.9ghz vs intel Core 2 duo E6750

Thread Starter
So my 4400+ is sitting here at 2.9 ghz at 64° max temp so i was thinking of switching it with intel core 2 Duo E6750 which has a core clock much 350 mhz higher than 4400+ (2.66ghz) and overclocks much higher up to 3.5 ghz. I was thinking about switching from my older cpu to intel core 2 duo. Would you guys suggest me this upgrade or it won't make much of a difference?

Also If i'm to compare my 4400+ @ 2.9 ghz with th intel one so can i say that my 4400+ @ 2.9 ghz is same as athlon 6000+ at stock?

A C2D E6750 is even faster than AMD X2 6000+ which is a 3GHz processor.. CLICK HERE

Simply a Conroe arhitecture from Intel blasts its AMD counterparts , period..

if you're gonna change your motherboard? Why not get something newer like a pentium G630 sandybridge?

OP is probably going for a used CPU/Mb.
If not I would suggest doing what you said, don't let the pentium word fool you here, those are very fast for the lower end SB.

Wel if i decide to go with a newer build, i was aiming towards core 2 quad or bulldozer fx 4100. But i do see that E6750 is much faster than the athlon 64 series

Celeron G530 is faster than the E6750 and costs only $50 new.

and it uses the same socket? wait, and isn't that a mobility one?

I suggest go for the sandybridge pentium, they are kinda like lower clocked i3. My phenom and pentium G620 are getting similar FPS in games.

LGA 1155 board = $50
Pentium G620 and G630 = $50 to $60

yeah, if your buying a MoBo 1155 is the way to go. everything from a $40 single core Celeron to a $350+ i7 Quad in one socket. The upgrade path is great.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157313 ASRock B75M LGA 1155 $65

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116399 Intel Pentium G620 Sandy Bridge 2.6GHz $62

That would be a HUGE upgrade for you. Might as well add a couple sticks of DDR3 1333 ram to it as well.
