How come Sandisk Extreme is not recommended/owned by hardly anyone?

From the tweaktown review the performance was outstanding when pinned next to the Plextor M3:
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/4613/24nm_flash_ssd_faceoff_sandisk_extreme_retake_and_plextor_m3_pro/index.html

And as far as reliability I've owned my 240GB Sandisk Extreme for 2 months on the latest firmware since day one and zero issues, zero slowdowns and zero BSOD's. It's also just as fast as when I got it.

Can someone please show some charts that justify why it is not highly regarded like the Plextor M3 and Samsung 830? I've been curious about this for some time.

I personally wouldn't touch anything that has a Sandforce controller. The failure rate is astronomical. Hope that has answered your question? The only drives i would bother with are Samsung and Crucial

You astronomical failure rate is based on...

I know 4 people with over 1 year old Sandforce based SSDs (myself included) and nobody has had failure or stability problems. I suppose it might be a result of this clean Kansas air...but i doubt it.

You do realize that only people with problems complain, not ones that are very happy with their product. If you go on their forum and 100 people complain, there is probably 10X that without issues at all. Problems get blown out of proportion on the internet.

OCZ have ditched Sandforce. They now use their own controller, Indilinx Everest. Says it all really. It is a fact that Sandforce controllers have the highest failure rate. You can't argue with facts.
