Those are driver files.... if Windows has compatible drivers pre-installed, you can install them after.

Ok, then u would need to do the ACHI tweak in windows registry? As without that u cant switch to AHCI in windows once it is installed..

Windows 7 has AHCI drivers. If you installed with the controller in that mode, then applying manufacturer AHCI drivers is not an issue.
Once again...

what if i try and copy the .sys file from the ahci drivers to ? C:\Windows\System32\drivers\
and i think its already in there, do i just replace it?
Maybe the board just plain does not support it as someone stated earlier those files on the bundled disc are just probably for similar boards that do...what happens if u select RAID in the bios?

...because the chipset may not support AHCI... as already stated.

Also, even though the file has "AHCI" in the name... it may not actually fully support it with his chipset.

No. If Windows cannot identify it properly through Device Manager, then it cannot find a compatible or newer driver.
