I popped into a large PC store tonight when it was a little quieter and took a SteelSeries 6G v2, the only one in the shop, out of it's box and had a play around on it. So it has Cherry MX Blacks. There was also a Black Widow Ultimate and I was only able to play around with the four arrow keys which are exposed from the box. I'm a bit confused. They both felt about the same to me. If anything, the Steelseries keys felt slightly smoother and lighter to press (but really, barely noticeable tbh), yet apparently they're meant to take 60g actuation force which is more than the 50g for the Black Widow's Cherry MX Blues. Also, sound wise, Cherry MX Blues are meant to be louder aren't they? Well, to my ears, they were both about the same, but if anything, the Steelseries 'clack' was fractionally louder.
So to sum up, the Black Widow should be louder and slightly easier to actuate the keys yet I found the reverse was true, albeit by the tiniest of margins. Are my ears and fingers deceiving me?
