I figure I'll start with specs since I am sure thats the first question that'll be asked. I just had my computer upgraded. Actually all I kept of the old one was the hard drive and keyboard.
Asus M5A99x EVo AmD 990X AM3+
AMD FX 8150
XFX Radeon 6870
620W Antec PSU
Windows 7 OS
boring harddrive
Ambient room temperature 70 F
On to the problem. I am not overclocking currently. Though I probably will in the future. Right now everything is pretty standard. However between the AMD sensors, the temperature sensor on my case Real Temps, Core Temps , Speed Fan and Bios I cannot get an consistent cpu temp reading. My idle temps across the 5 sensors readers range from 13 C to 21 C and under a 50% load they range from 24 C to 45 C. This is a bit of a bother as I am not even coming close to using the full ability of the CPU and I would like to get the temperature under control before I play with overclocking. Right now I am lucky if I can run 2 programs without the computer screaming bloody murder about the temp.
I added larger and more powerful fans in place of the base case fans. But I am not sure I set the air flow right. (air flow pic below)
I do plan to get water cooling before I overclock but for right now I was hoping someone might have a suggestion on how to keep the temps stable considering I am barely using the darn cpu ability.
As an example when temps are reading 45 C all I am running is minecraft and chrome.

in the above picture the translucent green square is an intake fan.
Not sure if the temp readings are just wacky or if I really need to do liquid cooling just to run standard clock speeds.
Any suggestions?
