I've been poking around on the net for a while looking for a decent fan controller and haven't found anything I like, so I'm thinking of just putting something together on a breadboard and plugging it in to the fan header on my motherboard for PWM control through software. Nothing fancy, but I'm pretty much ignorant when it comes to the bits and pieces of electronic equipment. So I've these simple questions:
What components would I need to boost the PWM signal through to 12 (actually, more will probably be added, make that 15) fans reliably? And what would be the most efficient way to arrange things on the board? Should I run a unique trace or the PWM on each 3 pin plug or can I daisy chain it?
