Issue with EVGA 670 FTW

Thread Starter
Hello all, I built my rig yesterday and I have been having trouble with my 670 it appears. First off both my screens will freeze at random times. However, I can still hear the audio from the game and my music and it is continuous and not studding at all. When this happens I also hear beeps through my speakers (single beeps) while the screens are still frozen. I have to eventually force a shutdown by holding the power button on the case. I also have had the drivers crash while just surfing the web. However, the music shuddered for a bit then the screen flashed and came right back on and it was back to working, no shutdown needed.

I did a stress test and after 13 minutes on EVGA OC I got the freeze up again and I had to shut down.

What I have tried so far: Complete removal of the drivers, full uninstall and everything. I have tried the 304.79, 304.48, and the 301.42.

What is the issue? And how do I fix it?

Just as a test can you try a down clock, run a -50MHz on GPU and -100MHz on mem and see if it still crashes.

Update: Still having the same issue even with the lowered clocks. After about 18mins or so on EVGA OC both screens will go black and freeze.

Update Again: Just did another run at the EVGA OC stress test and it went 30 mins in full screen with out any problems. I dont know if the issue is solved or not. Temps didnt go above 77. I will try now with some games to see if it is fixed or not. Also the clocks are still at -50 and -100.

Just played a few games of SC2 and it worked fine. Then I alt tabbed to post it has been solved and BAM. Driver crashed twice, screen has flashed black then recovered. Has happened 3 times in the past 5 mins. Anyone have any ideas? Should I just RMA the card?
