I actually JUST ordered this on amazon. Should I return it? They had a 60% off deal so I took it.

Yeah, it does look like an impact driver, like said above good for putting lug nuts on car tires or jacking something up, but no good for drilling holes in a case. You need more of a drill... if that makes any sense...

That DeWalt is an impact driver. Not really meant to use a drill bit to punch a hole through something. Lot more torque but not very much speed. To use it with a drill bit your going to need something like a Jacobs chuck or find bits that have flat side so the chuck on that thing will hold it.

This proceeded by a bunch of images of powertools made me very happy hahaha. Good power supply brand choice with corsair.
If the Dewalt driver has the ability to switch the hammer function on/off then i might be ok for drilling but otherwise i agree with leighteam. EDIT: People with much better knowledge than me have decided it wont work D:
Looking forward to more updates also.

Ok I cancelled the order in time and ordered a drill.

You guys all saved me a whole lot of headaches already!!! Thank you so much!

no problem. if you got a good deal on it i'd almost keep it. its a great tool to have around the house. however, it's kind of pointless to buy an impact driver AND a separate drill. especially if you could invest that money into a better build. with that in mind, i'd advise that you dont spend too much money on cosmetics (such as those fan grills)... i'd imagine buying those plus paying shipping from frozencpu would cost an arm and a leg. better to invest that money in getting a better cpu or graphics card.

So I canceled the "impact driver" and bought a corded drill. It came the same day with my B&D rotary saw; only two days later by amazon!
