Samsung 700D imho is the best 23" 120hz monitor right now...as long as you are happy with glossy screens (vivid colors). It $379 right now..but it used to be $299.

Besides that...the BenQ 2420 is one of the best matted 120hz monitor...though I personally think the panel is better in the Samsung 700D (slightly sharper, better colors). BenQ 2420 is really good for 3D usage and height/angle adjustment features, better than most...if you actually plan to use it for 3D.

No idea about the BenQ RL2450HT. The Asus VG236H (glossy) and Acer HN274H (matted) I don't think are as good as Samsung or BenQ....but that's just my opinion. Though they are probably decent, if they have no QA issues. I've heard that Alienware AW2310 and Planar SA2311W are actually decent matted monitors as well...but I'm pretty sure not as good as BenQ. I actually think the Planar is better than Alienware, but I believe they don't make them anymore.

Also, I like glossy > matted. Some people are very sensitive to even the slightest reflections..if that's you..then perhaps Samsung 700D isn't for you. I've don't even notice it..so never bothers me.

My Choice = Samsung 700 (glossy, vivid colors, perhaps slightly sharper as well)
Matted = BenQ 2420
3D usage and height/angle adjustment features = BenQ 2420

If I had to guess rankings from the list above...

Samsung 700D > BenQ 2420 > Planar SA2311 > Alienware AW2310 or Asus VG236H or Acer HN274H (not sure how these 3 rank)

I'd research and google more to get other opinions..especially from people that own these monitors.

The Samsung 27" are really nice, but end up being a lil more costly. However, Samsung offerings are definitely a good choice from what i've heard (and I did about a year of research on these before ending up with mine). I have a Planar SA2311W and I am super happy with it, and it's less expensive. The BenQ is, in my opinion, the best gaming monitor as it exhibits the least amount of input lag. my buddy has it and has absolutely zero complaints, thing is great. I am super happy with my Planar, it's really well made, simple, and does a great job. I'd say get the BenQ, it's got a lil less input lag and for FPS that is most important.. just read some of the guides for color adjustment once you get it.

sounds good. i haven't had any bites yet (surprisingly), so i would love to sell it to you. it sounds like it would be the perfect monitor for you. i have it listed in the marketplace under the video section. give it a look when you are ready.

for what i am asking for it, you can't go wrong. 23", 1080p, 120hz, 3d, very well-made and looks fantastic.

My issue with the 27'' Samsungs, the 950D's, are they are 1080p, not 1440p, which is the appropriate native resolution for 27''.
